
Salvador Bonilla. He has a degree in economics from the Autonomous University of Nuevo León and a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Chicago. He worked at Banco de México for 31.5 years (until March 2012), holding various positions, the last one being Manager of Analysis and Measurement of the Real Sector, in the General Directorate of Economic Research, understanding the areas of preparation and analysis of the balance of payments statistics; and monitoring and analysis of productive activity and employment. He worked at the IMF as an economist in the Western Hemisphere Department (1989 – 1991).
He has been working at CEMLA for 8 years, currently serving as Deputy Manager of Economic Statistics. Its functions consist of training activities and technical assistance in matters of economic statistics. He has participated as a speaker in various national and international forums on issues of analysis and methodological aspects of external sector indicators, and on family remittances
