René Maldonado is Coordinator of the Remittances and Financial Inclusion Program developed by CEMLA, the central banks and the IDB-Lab. Economist from the Bolivian Catholic University (UCB), with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Master’s Degrees for Development from UCB and the Harvard Institute for International Development, Higher Postgraduate Degree in Quantitative Evaluation of Economic Policies from the Simón Bolívar Andean University (UASB) and Master in Economics from the UASB and the University of Geneva.

His work experience includes the Central Bank, the Superintendency of Banks and Financial Entities and the Comptroller General of the Republic in Bolivia, in the areas of studies, standards and the implementation of the payment system and the Government Control Law. He was also the National Marketing Manager at Banco Solidario.
