The Money Transmitters Regulators Association will hold its 25th Annual Conference in October 6-9 in Kansas City Missouri. This conference is mainly attended by regulators from all the states that license Non-Bank Financial Institutions that are required to obtain a license to offer their services to customers in their state. The Money transmitter industry is also present with representatives from all major companies: Compliance Officers, BSA Officers, Compliance Managers, Compliance Consultants, Regulatory Counsel, Attorneys, Bond issuers, etc.
The Event
This year, the Kansas City Marriott Downtown will be the host of the MTRA, an event that is skillfully put together by Ms. Susan Shermer, MTRA Administrator. Monday the 5th and Tuesday the 6th are regulators-only sessions. The industry forum starts on Tuesday, October 6 at 1:30 pm with the “Industry only Forum” facilitated by Ron Schwartzman, Chief Compliance Officer from Uniteller Financial Services and Andrew McElmell, Sr. Regulatory Counsel at PayPal. At the end of this session IMTC will host the Welcome Reception on Tuesday evening from 5:30 pm till 7:00 pm in the beautiful & historic “Barney Allis Lobby”. You are all invited.
On Wednesday, October 7th, is the “Meet the Regulator” Breakfast followed by a Welcome Message by MTRA’s President Stephanie Newberg, Texas Department of Banking and Judi Stork, Deputy Commissioner, Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner.
