Geraldo Magela Siqueira

Geraldo Magela Siqueira has been with the Banco Central do Brasil for more than 35 years, more than 30 in the Foreign Exchange Area of the Bank. He is currently the Executive Secreatry of the Banco Central. He was previously the Head of the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Capitals Unit at the Bank (GENCE), the area in charge with developing studies to modernize the all regulations and procedures applicable to foreign exchange, money transfer, foreign investment, Brazilian investments abroad, etc. It was one of the coordinators of the team that prepared the studies that resulted in the unification of the foreign exchange market in 2005 and all the improvements seen in the current foreign exchange regulations ever since.
