George Inocencio is a veteran of the cross-border remittance industry in the Philippines with over 30 years’ experience spanning areas of banking, non-bank financial services, multi-country partner management, remittance systems and operations, and government services for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

He is the current President of the Association of Bank Remittance Officers, Inc. (ABROI), an industry organization composed of officers from major Philippine banks active in the OFW remittance business. He is a First Vice President at the government-owned Development Bank of the Philippines, where he leads the Remittance Department since 2010. George started his career in 1987 at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), a government agency handling OFW welfare programs and services. He served for eight years under the Land Bank of the Philippines’ Overseas Remittance and Marketing Office, including seven years as Chief Representative managing Land Bank’s OFW business in Taiwan. He held leadership positions in IT regional sales (ASEAN/China/India), and channel management for the Asia Pacific region. Immediately prior to DBP, he served as Vice President covering the North American/Canada region for I-Remit, Inc., a listed Philippine MSB.

He completed his post-graduate Master in Management, with distinction, at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in 2001. He was a full government scholar at the University of the Philippines (UP) where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics in 1986.
