Gene Gutierrez is the Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Inpay,  a payment platform, bank to bank solution, established on a real-time global network of bank accounts and local liquidity in over 60 countries specializing in C2B, B2B and B2C payment processing. Gene has been working in the global payments industry since 1995- focused on developing, selling and managing cross border P2P and B2B payment programs. He has held a variety of executive roles in the remittance and commercial payments industry and holds co-inventor status with Danny Ayala for a U.S. patent for the development of a remittance platform.

Previously, Gene served for 3 years as the Regional Director Asia Pacific and the Middle East for Eurogiro A/S, one of the largest member based payment communities in the World. His primary responsibility was for all new business development efforts in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. He had moved to Eurogiro from Trans-Fast Remittance where he was the Senior Vice President, E-Commerce.

It was in Xoom, as the Senior Vice President – Asia Pacific, where Gene made a lasting mark in the remittance industry; the Philippines volume and revenue for the company grew exponentially under his tenure and still represents more than half of Xoom’s revenue. He was at Xoom for 5 years after three years at Wels Fargo Bank, as the Head of New Product Development in the Global Remittance Services Division. Product launches at Wells Fargo included a Philippine Remittance ATM Card product, a Latin-American Cash to Account product and a Acct to Acct / Demand Draft remittance deposit product to India. In his early years Gene also worked for GE, Citigroup, Diners, Bank One and the Bank of New York.

Gene has traveled and lectured around the world for major financial institutions about new product development, partnerships and remittance programs. He has also testified before the United States Congress as an Industry Expert in the field of T&E affinity and loyalty programs.

Gene has an Executive MBA in International Marketing from New York University and a BA in Political Science at San Diego State University. He has also received industry certifications in both Six-Sigma Quality (Green Belt) and TQM Quality Management.
