Carlos Angulo founded Tealca in 1985, with the purpose of providing remittance and messaging services between the cities of Caracas (Venezuela) and Barranquilla (Colombia). Due to customer satisfaction and demand, they opened more than 40 offices in Colombia and Venezuela between 1985 and 1999. Later, due to changes in Venezuelan policies, Casa de Cambio Angulo López was founded, dedicated to sending remittances to and from Venezuela, complying with all the authorizations of the competent regulatory bodies. From this moment on, Tealca has completely dedicated its services to the courier industry, developing its own franchise model, with today more than 110 stores in Venezuela. Since the arrival of COVID-19 and, in view of the new socioeconomic challenges, adaptation has been a main theme for Carlos in his mission to support Venezuelan immigrants anywhere in the world.
