John Walsh is President and CEO of SightSpan Inc. since 2007 and a frequent lecturer at international conferences on subjects related to Risk Management, Cyber Security, General Security, Anti-Laundering Laundering (AML) and Combating Terrorist Financing (CTF). SightSpan is an International Consulting and Training firm that assists private and government clients address critical and confidential projects throughout the world in matters such as Risk Management, State and Terrorist Sponsored Cyber Warfare, Security Planning and Operations. John has had the privilege to work directly with many government Financial Intelligent Units (FIU) and Military Intelligence groups. John preforms the role of Consulting AML Manager and Risk Manager at a multiple of international firms, and meets with Board of Directors of over fifty firms each year to plan for and address risk management issues.
Prior to joining SightSpan, John held leadership positions within the financial services industry for over twenty years, including roles at Wachovia Bank NC, where he was the Senior Vice President of Client and Transaction Information, responsible for information management and corporate governance; John was an SVP at Bank of America in Charlotte NC, where he had the role of Global AML Technology and Process Executive and Merrill Lynch, where he was the Director of Debt and Equity Trading eCommerce and trading systems.
John’s background also includes over a decade of experience in trading/dealing in commodities where he was CEO of a Futures and Options Trading company. John also managed multiple FX and Local currency Fixed Income trading firms in the USA, Mexico, and Latin America and within ultra-high risk emerging market countries, where he gained valuable experience in international compliance and security risk management. John has held multiple trading related licenses include a Series 7 and 3 and a number of principle and compliance certifications in the US and several other countries.
John is a Certified Compliance and Risk Officer (CCRO), serves as a board member of the Association of Certified Financial Crimes Specialist, he is an active member of the Association of Anti-money Laundering Professionals (ACAMS) and founding member of the NC Chapter. He is also a member of the Arab American Bankers Association and the Certified Fraud Examiners Association, Global Association of Risk Professionals and multiple international security groups, where he keeps up to date on current information and advancements within the corporate and general security risk management arena.
