Welcome to the financial capital of South America hosting for the fourth time in 2018 the Foreign Exchange, International Money Transfer & Cross-Border Payments Conference, where industry participants will converge to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the industry in Brasil and in the region as a whole. The financial system in the region is changing as anti-corruption mechanisms are implemented, technology is bringing new players to the market and start-ups are appearing left & right. The conference will be held amidst the access to banking difficulties that traditional and new companies are facing with large US Banks forcing local banks to close accounts of industry actors, large & small. Are regulators helping the industry as multilateral organizations denounce these over-the-top derisking practices? Will the closing of bank accounts bring back the parallel markets that have taken so long to control? Will new Blockchain Settlement Systems replace failing banking & derisked rails? Those and other questions will be discussed and analyzed.

The Blue Tree Premium Morumbi Hotel, a prestigious & upmarket hotel in a grand high-rise building, with 25 floors and 400 rooms, is located next to the Morumbi Shopping mall, with nightclubs and restaurants in close vecinity. IMTC USA in San Francisco was the best IMTC so far and everyone else thought so too. I think being in SF really brought balance to the attendees and a fresh look at fintech/blockchain/virtuals/emerging companies .
In the compliance segment., Connie did a great job recruiting the right people and the topics and caliber of speakers were excellent.

I was able to share the success of Bitcoin. I shared the technology and learn from the people in the industry on how to leverage network of independent money transmittors. I had a great time in Miami.
