Hans Cacdac is the Administrator at Philippine Overseas Employment Administration
At 48 years old, Cacdac is the youngest to head OWWA in its 40-year history.
He began his career as the director of the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Bureau of Labor Relations in 2001, then served as the department’s National Conciliation and Mediation Board from 2005 to 2006.
Cacdac was named POEA’s deputy administrator in 2006 until he returned to DOLE for a brief stint as its undersecretary for labor relations from 2010 to 2011.
Former POEA administrator Carlos Cao Jr.’s exit in 2012 gave way to Cacdac’s return to the agency as its administrator.
Cacdac was recently part of OWWA’s repatriation team for Filipino workers retrenched by major construction companies affected by the oil crisis in Saudi Arabia.
