Mr. Dindo R. Santos presently heads BSP’s Integrated Supervision Department I. As a Director of ISD I, he is responsible for strategizing, managing, enforcing and recommending the appropriate supervisory actions to be taken on BSP Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs), particularly money service business, remittance transfer companies, pawnshops and non-stock savings and loan associations. His areas of knowledge relate to risk management, bank resolution, bank supervisory enforcement actions and remittance operations and policy development.
He joined the BSP in 1998 as a bank examiner, where he dealt with on-site and off-site supervision of local banks and foreign bank branches. Since then, he assumed various positions in-charge of overseeing the conduct of effective supervision and examination of BSFIs towards a sound and stable financial regime. Mr. Santos also leads the Supervision and Examination Sector’s (SES) Working Group on Enforcement Policy. Further, he is a primary contributor in the capacity building program of the BSP, aptly named Professional Excellence Program for Supervisors (PEPS). He likewise contributed in the SES advocacy on information and knowledge sharing by serving as a resource speaker in various fora with other central banks officers and examiners, bankers, financial institutions and students as audience.
Mr. Santos is a Certified Public Accountant. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from San Beda College, Cum Laude. In 2004, he graduated from De La Salle University with Masters in Business Administration. Mr. Santos also earned a global certification for internal auditors.
